Top 5 Things to See and Do in the United States

top things to do in the US

The United States has everything, from breathtaking natural vistas to thriving urban centers. The national parks, the nightlife of the larger cities, and the beaches provide ideal destinations where you can get lost. It can be challenging to select where to travel first. So, we’ve produced a brief list of the best and optimum things to do in the United States. You can browse potential holiday things as you scroll down.

1.   Go Sight-Seeing In New York City

One of the most magnificent places on Earth is a city that never sleeps. You can do and see anything you want. Everything about New York is incredible, from its many excellent museums and art galleries to its many amazing plays and theaters. It has many excellent restaurants and an enormous Central Park. See the 9/11 Memorial, visit the Statue of Liberty, and stroll the High Line.

2.   Go to the Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is beyond amazing. The results are stunning. Do not forget to hike back down to the base as well. The vastness and splendor of the canyon are best appreciated by making the journey down to the Colorado River. It is something most visitors never do. Less than one percent of people make it down to the bottom, so you won’t have to deal with crowds. If you’re traveling in the warmer months, remember to pack lots of water.

3.   Explore Austin

Austin is a city that has it all: great weather, a plethora of outdoor activities, loud honky-tonks, hip house bars on Rainey Street, fantastic trails for hiking and bicycling, and so much more. You may enjoy the finest of both the urban and the rural worlds here.

Having grown up here, I feel a strong sense of civic pride. While you’re here, you must gorge yourself on BBQ.

4.   See Glacier National Park

My favorite national park is right here. You can find beautiful snow-capped mountains, a scenic lake from which to take in the scenery, expansive glaciers, and miles of hiking routes here.

Simply said, I cannot speak highly enough of this location as one of the most incredible sights I have ever witnessed on my travels.

5.   Take a Trip along California’s Scenic Pacific Coast Highway

You can see the world’s most breathtaking scenery along the Pacific Coast. It boasts towering cliffs, forests that slope down to the water’s edge, miles of sandy beaches, and towering redwood trees.

California State Route 1 includes the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). It is one of the longest and most historically significant state highways in the United States.

Plan on going at a snail’s pace. You’ll want to pull over regularly to get out and enjoy the scenery by hiking and gazing at it. If you don’t stop it might take 10 hours to complete the trip. However, I suggest setting aside at least several days to soak in the sights.
